After facing a battery of objections – including complaints filed by the Cairngorns National Park Authority and the John Muir Trust – RES was forced to scale the project back from 36 turbines to 33, and submit an amended application in 2008.

As it stands the project will cost £70m-£100m ($108m-$154m) to build using 3MW turbines. It will be located 25km south of Inverness, and will produce enough electricity to meet the needs of 40% of households in the Scottish Highlands.
