Danish renewable energy developer Copenhagen Energy plans to build a 3GW offshore wind farm in Western Australia.

The Midwest Offshore Wind Farm at between 10 and 70 kilometres off Kalbarri north of Geraldton is slated to comprise up to 200 turbines and six substations, and provide electricity for three million homes and businesses, the company said.

The developer plans to start construction in 2028, with first power seen in 2030, pending approvals.
