Earnings in E.ON’s renewables segment rose in the first quarter of 2019 as the German utility says its planned asset and share-swap transaction with rival RWE is on schedule.

Sales in renewables rose by 19% to €478m ($537m) in the first quarter when compared to the first quarter of 2018, mostly because of an increase in output due to the commissioning of an offshore wind farm in the UK and an onshore wind farm in the US.
