Danish offshore wind pacesetter Orsted is extending its 100% renewable electricity target to all of its suppliers, meaning they will have to use green power by 2025 if they want to continue to do business with the developer.

The demand – a first among energy companies – builds on Orsted’s existing supply chain decarbonisation programme from 2020, and supports the utility’s target to reach net-zero by 2040.
