Wind last year accounted for more than 23% of Spain’s power generation, and with that for the first time became the country’s biggest source of electricity last year, the country’s wind energy association (AEE) said.

In 2020 wind had accounted for 21.9% of Spain’s generation, and in 2019 for 20.8%.

The Iberian country at the end of last year had more than 28GW of installed wind power capacity, according to grid operator REE.
