Danish offshore engineering outfit Ramboll has been tapped by US developer Dominion Energy to support construction of the 2.6GW Virginia Offshore Wind (VOW) project, set to be the largest offshore wind farm when it comes online in 2026.
Ramboll, as “owner’s engineer”, will consult on all development and engineering aspects of the development, which will supply 650,000 homes with zero-carbon electricity once in service, makng a “significant contribution” to the state of Virginia's target of having renewables make up 30% of its energy mix by 2030.
