The Hai Long offshore wind project after two years of tough negotiations secured government approval for its local content plans, in another milestone for the sector there.

Hai Long – whose first 300MW phase will use Siemens Gamesa’s record-sized 14MW turbines – got the OK for the ‘Industrial Relevance Plan’ needed for feed-in tariff support.

“This has been quite a ride! It’s hard to express how big of a challenge this has been for the Hai Long team and the amount of hard work and dedication that has gone into this,” project director Felipe Montero said in a Linkedin post.
