Italy’s Prysmian Group in a consortium with submarine installation contractor Asso.subsea has signed an about €30m ($35.5m) contract with French grid operator Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE) for the export submarine power cable system of the Gruissan floating offshore wind farm off southern France.

Prysmian will be responsible for the design, supply, termination, testing, and commissioning of one 66kV three-core export submarine cable with EPR insulation for a total of 25km, as well as another 66kV submarine dynamic cable with EPR insulation for about 1km connecting the shore to a floating sub-station.
