An investigation is underway after two GE Renewable Energy turbines sustained damage at a wind farm in the US state of Oklahoma after a suspected "mechanical incident".

Local media photographs show turbine wreckage at the Skeleton Creek project after the incident, which apparently occurred in mid-August but has only just come to light.

The 250MW Skeleton Creek, owned by US giant NextEra Energy, began operations in late 2020 using 90 GE turbines.
