Irish ocean energy developer Simply Blue Energy (SBE) has named floating wind sector veteran Kevin Banister to the post of international chief development officer, as it ramps up plans to expand its project portfolio beyond its core play in the UK’s Celtic Sea where it is progressing two deepwater wind arrays.
Banister, who for the last ten years worked with floating wind technology pioneer Principle Power, is charged by SBE with ushering forward industrial-scale developments off Europe, the Americas and Asia using a strategy of “initiating projects and preparing the ground for partnership with the larger entities that look to own and operate offshore wind assets [in the] long term”.
