After two oversubscribed tendering rounds, the latest German onshore wind auction was once more undersubscribed, pushing prices for winning bids higher.

Developers handed in bids for only 947MW for the 1.32GW on offer, the federal grid agency (BNetzA) said, adding it hadn’t anticipated an imminent undersubscription and thus didn’t reduce the volume on offer. Two bids had been excluded for formal errors.

The average price at the 931MW in successful bids rose to €58.80 ($62.81) per megawatt hour, up from €57.60/MWh
