Wind’s cost-competitiveness coincides with the UK’s need to secure new sources of power. The government has announced bold plans to close all coal fired power stations by 2025. Many coal as well as some gas, oil and nuclear stations have closed already.
This generation capacity needs to be replaced and onshore wind will soon be the cheapest way to do it.
