Germany’s Nordex has become the biggest-selling wind turbine manufacturer in its home market for the first time – pushing long-time rivals Enercon and Vestas to second and third place, respectively – thanks in large part to its 4-5MW class model, the N149.

The Rostock-headquartered OEM saw 769MW of its turbines grid-connected in Germany in 2022, roughly a third of all machines (32%) installed, according to preliminary figures by the country’s wind agency FA Wind, which calculated total plant installations of 2.4GW.
