The first construction vehicles have arrived at the Nowy Staw wind farm, near Gdansk in northern Poland, with the 39MW project slated to have 19 REpower MM92 turbines in place and turning out electricity by early next year.

The €60m ($77.7m) project will add to RWE's 108MW of existing wind capacity in Poland, which recently backed away from a plan that investors say would have killed its renewables market and put its 2020 targest out of reach.

Innogy has a goal of adding 50MW of wind capacity in Poland each year until 2015, and has a “well-filled” pipeline in place, according to chief executive Fritz Vahrenholt.
