Polenergia eyes 2019 as construction start for $2.6bn Polish offshore array

Environmental authorities in Gdansk are expected to grant a second 600MW license for the project later this year.

Polenergia expects overall investment costs to reach PLN10bn ($2.6bn) for the entire project with an assumed operational life span of 25 years.

The deployment of offshore wind in Polish waters in coming years has become more likely after the government earlier this year passed a strict distance rule that is likely to kill off most new wind projects on land.
