Poland should aim to be the largest Baltic Sea offshore wind play by 2050 with an installed fleet of 28GW, the country’s wind energy association PWEA said ahead of the signing of a landmark pact on cooperation on wind at sea between countries of the region.

This capacity would represents more than a third of the total that could be built in the Baltic Sea, PWEA added, giving its waters the second-largest offshore wind potential in Europe after the North Sea.
