Terms of the deal for the Pattern Santa Isabel Wind Project were not disclosed.
The company says winds on the south side of the US territory, which juts into the Western Atlantic near the British Virgin Islands, blow consistently during periods of peak electricity demand.
Pattern, which now looks ahead to the permitting process, aims to begin construction next spring and have the project operational late in 2011.
