Pattern Development nailed down C$393m ($312m) for the project, without specifying where the money comes from. With finance in hand, Meikle remains on track for commercial operation in late 2016.
The project has been under construction since January. Meikle will use 61 General Electric turbines, and sell its output through a 25-year PPA with BC Hydro, the province’s monopoly utility.
