Through its subsidiary Blue Diamond Ventures Renewables, the Houston-based company is partnering with wind project developer FreedomWorks on the project in Huerfano County. Blue Diamond says it owns 60% of the proposed $420m project. FreedomWorks owns the balance.
Blue Diamond points to wind data collected through the Colorado Anemometer Loan Program showing class 5 (excellent) winds at the 32sq km site on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
