No-sail zones have now been lifted around Orsted offshore wind farms in Denmark, the UK and Germany after they were requested when a rotor and three blades fell from a turbine, the Danish group said as it declared “no systemic issue” had been found.
The precautionary maritime restrictions were imposed on a clutch of other projects using Siemens Gamesa 3.6MW and 4MW models after the blades on Wednesday plunged into the sea from a turbine at the 400MW Anholt wind farm in Danish waters.
