Danish utility Orsted has signed a £3bn ($4bn) deal to sell half of the under-construction Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm in the UK to a consortium of investment firm AXA IM Alts and Credit Agricole Assurances.

The 1.3GW wind farm will be the world’s largest offshore array once it is commissioned later this year.

Orsted’s UK region head Duncan Clark stressed the importance of the giant wind farm for the UK’s commitment to decarbonise electricity by 2035.
