Denmark’s Orsted has unveiled updated plans for the up to 2.4GW Hornsea 3 wind farm off the English east coast, including reducing the proposed number of turbines from 342 to 300.

An Orsted spokesman told Recharge that a final decision on which turbines or turbine capacity to select for Hornsea 3 has not yet been made and wouldn’t happen until post consent for the project.

The revised plans for the Hornsea 3 follow a period of statutory consultation that ended late last year gathering the views of local communities and stakeholders which have been taken into account in the final design.
