Danish offshore wind pacesetter Orsted has handed in a bid to authorities in the US state of Maryland to develop a follow-on project to its 120MW Skipjack that would enlarge the development capacity six-fold.

The proposal for Skipjack 2, envisaged as a 760MW array located 19.5 miles (31.4km) off the coast of Delaware, comes in response to Maryland Public Service Commission’s second round of offshore wind awards.
