Danish offshore wind champion Orsted after lengthy talks has signed a deal to form a 50/50 joint venture with Polish utility PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna for the development, construction and operation of two Baltic Sea wind farms with a combined capacity of up to 2.5GW.
Orsted under the agreement will subscribe to new shares in the 1.5GW Baltica 2 and the 1GW Baltica 3 projects representing half of their share capital for an amount of PLN657m ($178m).
