The UK looks set to reboot its dormant onshore wind industry after the Conservative government signalled “a very significant shift” in policy to bring forward new onshore wind farms “in areas of the UK which want to deploy it”.

“I think onshore wind is absolutely part of the future,” climate and industry minister Claire Perry told a select committee hearing in Westminister on Tuesday.
