Onshore wind in the cold as Poland looks to offshore, solar and nuclear

Poland’s cabinet has approved an energy transition strategy through 2040 (PEP2040) with a strong focus on offshore wind, solar and a massive build-up of nuclear, but only a limited role for onshore wind.

In line with recently approved offshore wind legislation, Warsaw's strategy aims for the installation of 5.9GW of offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea by 2030, and up to 11GW by 2040.
