At the start of this year, developers had provided notice of their intention to construct 48 additional wind farms in Oklahoma, more than double the 44 now in operation totaling 8.1GW nameplate capacity there, according to a new report.

While not all those projects have received regulatory approvals, the industry continues to view Oklahoma as a top-five US state onshore wind capacity expansion opportunity.
