Work has halted at one of Canada’s biggest wind farm projects after the oil & gas group developing it slashed spending following the coronavirus pandemic.

Suncor suspended construction work on the 200MW first phase of its Forty Mile project in southeastern Alberta for up to two years.

The first stage using 45 Siemens Gamesa SG 4.5-145 machines was due to enter service in 2021, with a second same-sized phase to follow.
