UK seabed landlord The Crown Estate has awarded developer Blue Gem Wind — a joint venture between French oil major Total and UK marine renewables outfit Simply Blue Energy — the rights to develop Wales’ first floating offshore wind farm.
The proposed 96MW Erebus project in the Celtic Sea, would be built about 44km off the coast of southwest Wales in water depths of 70 metres, and be brought into operation in 2025-26.
