Ten bidders have been pre-selected by the French government to participate in the so-called ‘competitive dialogue’, the next phase of a tender to build an about 250MW floating wind project off Brittany – all of them international companies or consortia already active in wind at sea.

It is the world’s first dedicated tender for a floating wind array, and the project will also be the world’s largest floating wind farm once it is operational, which the French ecological transition ministry foresees for 2029.
