Dutch company Visser & Smit MarineContracting is leading the work. The cables are being placed on the seabed bythe cable-laying vessel Normand Flower and later buried by the multi-rolesupport vessel Deep Cygnus.

RWE Innogy says that by mid-2014,  64km of the 33kV submarine cable will haveconnected the 48 wind turbines with the offshore transformer substation.

"Until now 24 of the 48 foundationsfor the wind turbines have been successfully installed,” says Nordsee Ostproject director Marcel Sunier.
