The Ocean Winds (OW) joint venture of French and Portuguese utilities Engie and EDPR through its Brazilian arm is pursuing permits for 15.2GW of offshore wind in the Latin American country.

The companies have launched OW Brasil yesterday, which under the previous name of Ventos de Atlântico in December 2020 had started the licensing process of five new offshore wind projects in the states of Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio de Janeiro, and Rio Grande do Sul.
