The Princeton, New Jersey,-based company has signed a binding letter of intent to purchase the project – consisting of 44 2.3MW Siemens turbines operating since January 2009 – from Babcock & Brown Renewable Holdings and Babcock & Brown Wind Co. LLC, according to an NRG spokesperson.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and expected to close in the second quarter.
