The current wind power boom in the Nordic countries is likely to continue, particularly in Sweden and Finland, due to an ongoing combination of factors such as power demand from data centres, industrial PPAs and strong winds, Vestas Northern and Central Europe president Nils de Baar told Recharge.

The Denmark-headquartered wind turbine manufacturer last month announced its biggest deal this year with a turnkey agreement to equip the 404MW Mutkalampi project in western Finland, which is also the biggest yet seen in Europe for the OEM’s modular EnVentus platform.
