Orsted has signed a deal to sell half of the 752MW Borssele 1&2 array – the largest operational offshore wind farm in the Netherlands – to the asset management division of Norway’s central bank.

The €1.38bn ($1.64bn) transaction with Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) is expected to close in the summer, pending regulatory approvals.

“As one of the world’s largest institutional investors, [NBIM] is making a difference by making sustainable investments,” said Orsted chief commercial officer Martin Neubert.
