“Two years ago, we announced our intention to make Nordex wind turbines in the US, for the US,” Ralf Sigrist, president and chief executive of Nordex USA, says in a statement. “Today we’re putting our hands to the metal and doing it. We hope Congress will do the same by finally passing meaningful renewable energy legislation.”
Nordex, like other major wind manufacturers, was banking on a national renewable energy mandate when it announced its plans to build the plant in summer 2009.
