Siemens Gamesa has parted company with Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, CEO of its struggling onshore wind division which is the focus of a corporate turnaround effort by the turbine manufacturing giant.

The onshore business will be led by group chief executive Jochen Eickholt while the company conducts “an executive search process” for a replacement for Krogsgaard, an industry veteran who was hired in July 2020 by former CEO Andreas Nauen.

The onshore wind operation has been at the heart of problems at the Spanish-German OEM, dragging back its successful offshore and service units and – in combination with issues facing all wind turbine manufacturers – plunging the group into successive losses.
