US yieldco NextEra Energy Partners (NEP) will buy a 1.4GW portfolio of recently built renewables projects from parent NextEra Energy, more than offsetting the Canadian wind assets it sold earlier this year.

The 11-project deal – among the largest single drop-downs by a US-based yieldco – includes a purchase price of $1.275bn, plus the assumption of $930m in tax-equity financing and $38m of project debt.
