NextEra Energy has seen “tremendous growth” in US wind and solar opportunities "across-the-board" with signed contracts on 31 March exceeding 5.8GW of capacity for 2019-2020 delivery, as it posted strong first quarter origination gains.
The largest US renewable power generator had 4.23GW of contracted wind under development – 25 projects in 15 states nationwide that also included 120MW for capacity in an unidentified location, according to data provided by the company during a first quarter earnings conference call.
