Mighty River – which is mainly focused on hydro and geothermal development – says the wind farm in the Puketoi Range region, 40km south of Dannevirke, could provide power for up to 150,000 homes.
However, Mighty River adds that recent reductions in power demand in New Zealand mean it is unlikely to bring consented wind projects to market in the short-term.
