New York has issued a competitive solicitation for a minimum 2GW of new large-scale onshore renewable energy projects, as the state accelerates progress toward its 2030 goal of 70% carbon-free electricity.
Governor Kathy Hochul estimates the round will generate almost $3bn in fresh investment, add 2,000 jobs to the state’s green economy, and provide clean electricity for at least 600,000 homes.
