New York is set to issue a competitive solicitation this quarter to award $200m in public investments to upgrade infrastructure at certain ports in the state to support both its own 9GW offshore wind capacity development goal by 2035 as well as other projects in the US Atlantic.

The funds, to be awarded this summer, will be structured to maximise accompanying private investment and to attract the manufacturing, assembly and maintenance of offshore wind turbines and other equipment to New York state.
