New York rolls out biggest-ever US offshore wind bid with 2.5GW round

New York regulators authorised the state to seek up to 2.5GW more offshore wind capacity, firmly establishing it as the pacesetter in the fast-evolving market along the US Atlantic coast.

The New York Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) will now request proposals later this year, the second instalment toward the state’s goal to have 9GW of offshore wind in place by 2035.
