Just 310MW of wind capacity was brought online during the second quarter, the weakest performance for the March-June period since 2013. Wind farms were completed in only four states during the quarter – Texas, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.
But developers are breaking ground at huge projects across the country as they seek to maximise the value of the production tax credit and growing demand for cost-competitive wind power from a range of buyers, including traditional utilities and corporations.
