Dutch-German transmission system operator TenneT will start the tender for a 2GW offshore wind converter station and the attached high-voltage direct current (HVDC) grid link for the Ijmuiden Ver project in the Dutch part of the North Sea.
The super-sized platform represents a major increase in size of offshore wind connections, following up on first 700MW and then 900MW rigs the TSO had been using as a standard so far.
