Maryland Governor Larry Hogan will allow legislation to pass into law that would double the US state’s renewable energy mandate to 50% by 2030 and encourages the addition of a minimum 1.2GW offshore wind power capacity.
The Clean Energy Jobs Act (SB 516) passed 8 April by the General Assembly, which Democrats control, includes a 14.5% carve-out for solar energy by 2030.
