Two bidders remained competing for development rights for the 160,480-acre (649.4sq km) South Lease Area, with a high bid of $629,082 as of 1100 ET, according to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), an agency of the US Interior Department that oversees wind energy development in federal waters.
The remaining developer submitted a $718,143 bid for the 183,353-acre (742sq km) North Lease Area.
