Port of Nigg – one of Scotland’s historic bases for oil & gas activity – took another step on its accelerating energy transition journey when it was lined up as installation base for a major offshore wind farm planned off the nation’s east coast.

Nigg, in the Cromarty Firth, has been conditionally named by Siemens Gamesa as pre-assembly and installation base for the 860MW Moray West project that the turbine OEM is itself in line to supply for developer Ocean Winds.
