The rotor hub and blades of a wind turbine fell off the nacelle at a wind farm in Altenberge, western Germany, last week, the operator, Encavis, told Recharge. No one was injured when the components fell into a field from a hub height of 70 metres.

The company stressed that the turbine type, the NEG Micon 60/100, is very reliable and widely used in the country, with the cause of the accident unknown.
