Siemens Gamesa chief executive Jochen Eickholt said “no stone in our organisation will be left unturned” to achieve cost savings, but the loss-making OEM – in tandem with the entire wind industry – will also need to raise prices to emerge from its current crisis.

The CEO during a media call commenting on third quarter losses also hinted at possible job cuts in the company’s administration, as well as a restructuring of manufacturing facilities to allow some sites to produce both onshore and offshore turbines.
